Once the rustling in Edgar's bunk stops, Curtis sighs, very softly, and flops back onto his own cot.

Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to give that bed to Edgar after all. It's only his first night, though. It's probably normal for a little bit of separation anxiety, right? Give it a couple more days.

Maybe, by then, Curtis will be used to having all this extra space in his bunk, too.
